As one of the projects I've been working on over the summer, I crocheted a birthday gift for a friend of mine. As the day in question has gone and the item safely exchanged hands, I can now show off, just a little :)
It's a baby dragon. I got the pattern from the lovely Freshstitches.
As my other summer projects are mostly still in progress, I better get a move on. I can't believe it's August already.

Summer Catch Up
Wow. It's amazing how in what seems like little more than a blink of an eye, time swooshes past and the summer is half over. Looks like it's time for a quick catch up post.
Some vacation pictures from the beach:
As ever the social butterfly, I made a bunch of new friends while I was relaxing:
And I had this lovely furry face waiting for me when I got home:
I hope you're all enjoying the beautiful summer sunshine, at least in between the thunderstorms. Gotta love humidity.

Spring
Been quite busy lately as I seem to be working on four projects simultaneously. This is completely out of the norm for me as I usually prefer to work on one project at a time, finish it and then move on to the next. Must be something in the spring air makes me crave diversity.
I cheated this year on Easter dinner. With the memory of Thanksgiving still in my mind (grocery shopping, prepping, cooking, clean up), we decided to eat out. And I totally recommend it. It was so much more enjoyable without all the work and worry. For those of you who enjoy hosting it, you deserve a medal.

Sewing Caddy
Finally getting around to posting a pic of what my hubby got me for Valentine's Day. It's so cute. I'm probably going to use the thread for some hand paper piecing.

Christmas Quilt Top
Here is a pic of my finished quilt top made of Christmas themed fabric. Since it's no longer the holiday season, I've put it away to be finished hopefully next year.
Been getting a lot of snow lately. Already a foot of it on the ground and due to get almost another foot this weekend. Hopefully Spring gets here soon.
In light of all the cold weather, I've been busy crocheting an afghan for an upcoming gift for someone. Pics and pattern to follow after it's been given away (just in case of snooping).

Holiday Season Catchup
Now that all the madness of the holidays are past us for awhile, I figured I'd quickly catch everyone up:
- The hubby and I got a keurig coffee machine for Christmas. I now spend my chilly mornings sipping flavored coffee. Not a bad start to the day.
- Made a quilt top out of Christmas fabric, but it's put away now to be finished next year.
- And to finish it, I can use all the holiday fabric I bought on clearance on 12/26.
- Still finishing up Clue 1 of the Quiltville Mystery Quilt. Hopefully everyone else is having better progress.
- Also have been using up my cotton yarn in my stash by crocheting washcloths, usually while watching White Collar on Netflix. Love that show.
